Free Locksmith Swipe Pack · Lockout Triage · Flat Rate · After-Hours

Six owner-approved scripts for locksmiths that lose money — and reviews — between the 2AM call and the truck rolling up.

The 11PM call is a car lockout in a grocery store parking lot with a screaming kid inside. The 6AM text is a landlord who needs three units rekeyed before a Monday tenant move-in. The insurance dispatch app just pinged you a covered auto lockout and the customer hasn't been told what's actually covered. And Yelp is full of one-star reviews about locksmiths who quoted $19 on the phone and charged $400 on the driveway. These scripts triage fast, set a defensible flat rate before you dispatch, keep ETA honest, and stop the after-hours job from turning into a chargeback.

01

Emergency lockout triage (voice or text)

For an incoming lockout call or text at any hour. Collects the six facts you need before you can quote or dispatch.

This is [Shop Name] — I hear you. Before I dispatch a truck, I need six things fast so I can send you a real number and an ETA instead of a guess: 1) Auto or property lockout? 2) If auto — year/make/model, and are the keys inside the car, lost, or broken in the ignition? 3) If property — house, apartment, storage, or commercial? Standard deadbolt, high-security (Medeco/Mul-T-Lock), smart lock, or padlock? 4) Where are you — full address or nearest cross-street and the parking lot / unit number? 5) Are you safe right now? Is anyone or any pet locked inside the vehicle? 6) Anyone at the property who can verify you belong there (ID matching the address, lease, registration)? Text is fine if it's easier. I'll come back with a price range and an ETA in under 3 minutes.
02

Flat-rate quote before dispatch

Sent as soon as the six-fact triage comes back. Honest range with the service call broken out — no bait, no "we'll see when we get there."

Here's the number for your [job type] at [address]: - Service call (drive + arrival): $[X] — non-refundable once the tech leaves the shop. - Labor + entry method: $[Y] range for a standard [pop / pick / bypass / rekey / cut key / smart lock reset]. If the lock turns out to be [high-security / broken ignition / damaged deadbolt], labor moves to $[Z] range and I'll tell you on-site before I touch it. - Estimated all-in: $[low] – $[high]. Cash, card on arrival, or the insurance dispatch code covers it. If that works, reply YES and I'll dispatch [tech name] with an ETA of [X minutes]. If the number's off for your situation, tell me and I'll see what I can do — I'd rather lose the job here than surprise you in the driveway.
03

ETA update (running late)

Sent proactively any time the tech is more than 10 minutes past the quoted ETA. Prevents the cancellation call.

[First Name] — quick update. [Tech name] is [X minutes] behind the ETA I quoted you because [honest reason: prior job ran long / traffic on I-[X] / weather]. New ETA is [time]. If that doesn't work for your situation — kid getting cold, meeting in the morning, you found a spare — tell me now and I'll refund the service call and get out of your way. If you still want me to come, reply STAY and I'll keep [tech name] rolling.
Upsell, insurance, and reviews
04

Rekey / move-in upsell (property lockout or new-owner)

Sent after a property lockout, or after a landlord/homeowner mentions a recent move-in, sale, or lost key. No pressure, just the safety option.

Hey [First Name] — while I was on-site I noticed [count] exterior locks on the same [brand/keyway]. Since you [just moved in / lost a key / had a tenant turn over], the safe call is a rekey on all [count] exterior cylinders so the old keys stop working. Flat $[X] on-site today while I'm still here, [$Y] if I have to come back another day. Zero pressure — the lockout is done either way. Reply YES to rekey now, LATER to schedule, or NO to leave as-is.
05

Insurance dispatch confirmation

For jobs coming through an auto-club or insurance dispatch app (AAA, Allstate Motor Club, Agero, Honk, Roadside Masters, etc.). Sets expectations before the tech arrives so nothing gets billed twice.

Hey [First Name] — I've got your dispatch from [dispatcher]. Here's exactly what's covered and what isn't so there are no surprises: - Covered: service call + standard [lockout / jump / tire change] up to [$X] per your policy. - Not covered (out-of-pocket if you approve on-site): key cutting, ignition repair, transponder programming, broken-key extraction, or any lock beyond the standard door cylinder. I will not touch any of that without telling you the exact price and getting a YES first. - Dispatch reference: [ref #]. ETA: [X minutes]. Tech: [name], [truck description / plate]. Reply YES if that all matches your understanding, or tell me what your dispatcher told you so I can straighten it out before I roll.
06

Post-service review request

Sent 4–6 hours after the job, from the operator, human-approved. Locksmiths live and die on Google reviews — this pack exists partly to make that review honest.

Hey [First Name] — hope [the car / the house / the shop] is locked up how you wanted. If it went well, would you leave a quick Google review? Direct link: [review URL]. In this trade, one honest review offsets ten shady operators showing up on the same search — and it's the reason my truck gets picked next time someone in [city] is locked out at midnight. Also — if anything about the job or the price felt off, text me first before you leave a bad review. I'd rather make it right than argue about it on Yelp.
Automation map

Turn 24/7 calls, insurance dispatch pings, Google Business Profile messages, and web-form lockouts into one triaged queue you can run from the truck.

Capture

Every inbound call, text, voicemail, Google Business Profile message, web-form lockout, and insurance dispatch app ping (AAA, Agero, Honk, Allstate Motor Club, Roadside Masters, Swoop) creates one job card — synced from your dispatch / CRM stack (ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, Workiz, RazorSync, KeyTrak) and your answering service or VoIP.

Triage

Tag auto vs. property, standard vs. high-security, safety-critical (child/pet inside, medical), insurance-dispatch vs. cash-pay, distance from nearest tech, ID/ownership verification status, and after-hours multiplier. Anything safety-critical gets an ETA push to the top of the queue before the quote goes out.

Draft

AI drafts from approved flat-rate ranges only. No phone-quoted "starting at $19" bait. No auto-approving anything beyond the covered service on an insurance dispatch. No promising a specific ETA the truck can't hit. Nothing auto-sends past name + service-call amount + ETA window without your approval on your phone.

Assign

You (or the on-call tech) open one queue between jobs: triaged lockouts waiting on a quote, dispatched jobs with running ETAs, on-site rekey/upsell prompts, insurance-dispatch confirmations, and post-service review requests. All you do is tap send.

Measure

Track call-to-quote response time, quote-to-dispatch rate, quoted-price vs. on-site-charged variance (this number kills or saves your Google reviews), ETA hit rate, insurance-dispatch conversion, rekey attach rate, cancellation rate on ETA slips, and Google review count and average over the last 30 days.

Not a legal or insurance product. Not a lock-picking training resource. Every reply in this pack assumes owner or tech-of-record approval before send. Results depend on your service area, tech coverage, insurance-dispatch mix, actual pricing, response time, and how honestly you quote on the phone vs. charge on-site. Do not misrepresent covered work under an auto-club or insurance dispatch, do not perform lockouts without reasonable ID/ownership verification, and follow all applicable state locksmith licensing rules.
